In the prelims, different ppl who sing the same song will be separated in the contest order by at least several spots.

In the finals, since there are much fewer contestants, you'd just have to sing it better than the other person.

Heh, I'm not sure if it's really bad form. We usually post up our thoughts and choices here so that others could decide for themselves if they want that kind of competition. If it's a song that you really like and think you can do well in, by all means, don't be discouraged by all our ramblings.

People doing the same songs happen at least once every year (if not in the same round, there's almost always a repeat within the entire competition at some point).

So yeah, you might not want to do something someone else is doing because of the immediate comparison, and you might want to post up what you want to do so others might think twice about choosing to do the same thing as you, but ultimately, do what you want to do because: you having fun = audience having fun.

I don't think it matters if people sing the same songs as long as they're distanced enough in the contest and if we don't have 10-20 entries singing it (but that never happened anyway). Everyone has their own personalized way of singing a song. But I personally feel uneasy if I hear about having the same song as someone else because I don't want to upset them since they might not feel the same way I do about this.

That is essentially why I'm posting right now. Kiei, I was supposed to sing 'Get Over' for finals as well. Even though we are in different categories, I feel bad if I don't tell you. I've been determined not to change my song choices this year because it does influence my lyrics mixing and blanks. I don't mean to upset anyone about this.

I didn't want to post my song choices because it makes me feel slightly uneasy, but I guess I will now.

If I were to change my final song, it would be most likely to :

This year, i'm definitely competing in the Karaoke contest!
i couldn't join last year because i didn't have an attendee badge (since i was helping some friends at the dealers' room, i didn't think of getting regular passes. >.>;;; ) but this year, i'm all set with registration! XD

Aimi : The language doesn't matter. If your song comes from an anime or a game and it's not in japanese, it doesn't matter (The only exceptions are straight covers from songs that were not originally from an anime/game).

I'm not totally sure about Full Moon sway yet, as I've heard countering reports from some saying it's a cover, some saying it's not. From what I can find on Google, it doesn't look to be a cover, as I can't find anything else about it except for the specific thing from Beck. If anyone knows better, please tell me.

Are you talking about the partially a capella version of "Full Moon Sway" i.e. when they are in the pool? Because I know that there isn't a recorded version of it on any of the Beck CDs. I know on the web someone made a straight from the avi rip though. Well, I might be wrong though... That's a great song though! : )

You were going to do the Sowelu version of Moon on the Water? Very cool. The acapella version would be cool, the .avi rips are never as good quality. ^^;

lorinan, As for the ending to BECK, The Sowelu version is out there, It was a single I believe or It was on one of Sowelu's CD's. I would check her website. Anyways, as for it being a cover It was originally done by BEAT CRUSADERS, she recorded her own version for the series. That's all I know =D

Heh. I HAVE the sowelu version. That's the problem. I DON'T have a Karaoke version of it, as there wasn't one on the CD. The song was a second song on the single. As for it being a cover by Beat Crusaders, is Beat crusaders japanese or non japanese?
